Women’s handball team calls up 22 players for first training camp under new foreign coach as they head to Paris + Hangzhou AG
The women’s national handball team, which will compete in the Asian Qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the Hangzhou Asian Games, moved into the Jincheon Athletes’ Village on Aug. 18 and began training for the first time since 2023.
The Korean Handball Association announced on Thursday that the roster for the tournament includes many players who were part of the team that won the last Asian Championship.
According to the federation, Park Sae-young (Samcheok City Hall), Osara (Gyeongnam Development Corporation), Jung Jin-hee (Seoul Metropolitan Government, GK), Shin Eun-joo (Incheon Metropolitan Government, LW), Cho Soo-yeon (Seoul Metropolitan Government, LB), Lee Im-kyung (Busan Facilities Corporation, CB), and Jung Ji-in (Omron, Japan), Kang Eun-seo (Samcheok City Hall, RB), Song Ji-young (Seoul Metropolitan Government, RW), Kang Eun-hye (SK Sugar Gliders), Kim Bo-eun (Samcheok City Hall), and Kim Sora (Gyeongnam Development Corporation, PV).
They are joined by Park Jo-eun (GK), who played in the 2022-23 SK Handball Korea League, which ended on July 7, Kim Min-seo (CB), who was named both Rookie of the Year and MVP, Yoon Ye-jin (LW), who was named to the BEST 7, and Jeon Jeon-yeon (RW).

This will be the first meeting with the newly appointed foreign coach. Swedish head coach Henrik Signell and two coaches will arrive to meet the Korean players for the first time and continue training.
The training will continue until June 20 in Jincheon, the national athletes’ village, and will be the first step towards the Olympic Asian Qualifiers in Japan on August 17 and the Hangzhou Asian Games in September.
