The Toronto Blue Jays used a two-hitter to snap a three-game losing streak.

The Blue Jays earned a 3-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Saturday (April 16) at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The game was dominated by the mound. Starter Jose Berrios earned his 11th win of the season (10th straight) with seven innings of five-hit ball, striking out eight and walking none. The bullpen followed suit, combining for a scoreless inning. Jordan Hicks (10 holds) and Jordan Romano (35 saves) combined for one scoreless inning.

The offense came up with the decisive hit.

It came in the bottom of the third inning with the score tied at 0-0. Toronto capitalized on its one chance. Alejandro Kirk led off with a double. Dolton Bashaw followed with a grounder to shortstop to load the bases, and George Springer flied out to right field.

But Bo Bissett drew a walk to load the bases. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. pulled a 96.6 mph four-seam fastball from starter Brian Bello over the left field fence. It was his 23rd three-run arch of the season. The home run gave Toronto a 3-0 lead.

Toronto squandered its chances in the sixth inning when Guerrero Jr. led off with a single, but the next three batters were retired on strikes.

The offense was unable to generate any offense in the following innings, as they all retired the next three batters.스포츠토토
