‘Six-match unbeaten streak’ Jeju to challenge for FA Cup quarterfinals “Prepare various options”
Can professional soccer’s Jeju United continue their unbeaten streak (5 wins, 1 draw) in their last six matches?
Jeju will face Daejeon Hana Citizens in the round of 16 of the 2023 Hana OneQ FA Cup at Jeju World Cup Stadium at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Coming off a 2-1 victory over Changwon City in the third round of the FA Cup last month, Jeju will be looking to advance to the quarterfinals at home.
Jeju’s recent form has been frightening. They are unbeaten in six games (five wins and one draw) and have climbed to third place in the league. A 1-1 draw against FC Seoul on Oct. 20 ended their club-record six-game unbeaten streak, but they’ve proven they can play with anyone.
Jeju, meanwhile, has gained the upper hand against Daejeon with two consecutive wins, most notably a 3-0 victory in the 10th round away match on March 30, thanks to consecutive goals from Kim Oh-kyu, Jung Woon, and Kim Bong-soo. Their goalkeeper, Kim Dong-jun, also made an unshakable save against the ‘home team’ Daejeon.메이저사이트
Stamina will be key. Jeju recently played two away games against Suwon FC and Seoul. As a result, Jeju head coach Nam Ki-il is expected to run an optimal rotation. Jeju has a home game against Suwon Samsung on the 27th.
“It’s a tight schedule, but so are our opponents. We have a lot of players back from injury, and there are still thirsty players behind us, so we have a lot of options to prepare for the FA Cup. We are still going in the direction we want to go. We will not be shaken in the FA Cup and we will continue to push for victory.”
