Samcheok native Chung Kyung Ho to join Gangwon FC coaching staff
Samcheok soccer star Chung Kyung-ho (43) will join the Gangwon FC coaching staff.
“Former Seongnam FC acting head coach Jung Kyung-ho will join the coaching staff of head coach Yoon Jung-hwan,” a Gangwon FC official said on the 16th. With this, Jung Kyung-ho, one of Gangwon Province’s most famous soccer stars, will continue his coaching career at his hometown team.
He started his professional career with Ulsan Hyundai before joining his hometown team as a founding member of Gangwon FC, where he became the club’s second captain after Lee Eun-yong. He was appointed as an ambassador for Gangwon FC this season. The retired Daejeon Citizen (now Daejeon Hana Citizen) star scored six goals in 41 A-match appearances for his country. He was also a member of the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
He began his coaching career as a coach at his alma mater, Ulsan University, before moving into the professional ranks in 2017 as the head coach of Sangmu Sangmu (now Gimcheon Sangmu). He later joined Seongnam FC as the head coach, where he also served as acting head coach after Kim Nam-il resigned. He was a coach and acting head coach in K League 1 until last year, so he is well versed in the current K League 1 landscape. It is expected to be a big boost for Yoon Jung-hwan, who has been away from the K League since he stepped down as head coach of Ulsan Hyundai in 2016.메이저놀이터
He also attended the “Gangwon In: Front, Praying for the Success of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province” event in Chuncheon in February, which was a great experience for him to continue his coaching career with his hometown team. He is known for his tactical savvy and is expected to make a significant contribution to Gangwon’s rebound from 11th place.
