‘Monster’ Holland’s choice is Arsenal captain “If you had to pick a player of the year other than me…”

The epic 2022-23 English Premier League season was all about Elling Holland (22, Manchester City).

The monster was definitely different. Holland was labeled a goal-scoring monster even before he arrived in the Premier League. Having already shown flashes of potential as a teenager playing for Austria’s Red Bull Salzburg, Holland went on to establish himself as a big league striker with Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga.

When Holland pulled on the Manchester City shirt this season, he didn’t need an adjustment period. A completely different environment, style of play, and a slightly unorthodox tactic hasn’t held him back from becoming one of the world’s best.

A prolific goal scorer from the league’s opening day, Holland exploded for 13 goals in the first 10 games, including three hat tricks, to dominate the top scorer’s race early on. His unstoppable goal-scoring streak soon escalated to the point where he could make Premier League history, top scorer or not.

Holland lived up to the hype, scoring 36 goals to become the league’s top scorer. He broke the record for most goals in a single season in the 38-round Premier League, as well as the previous record for most goals in a 42-game season in English professional soccer.

Not surprisingly, Holland dominated the individual awards. He swept the Premier League Secretary’s Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards, as well as the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Male Player of the Year.

It’s a season where there’s no disputing Holland’s supremacy, but Monster insists there was some strong competition. “If I had to pick another player for player of the year, I would say Martin Ødegaard (24, Arsenal) had a really good season,” Holland told William Hill on Tuesday.메이저사이트

The Arsenal captain has been a key part of the Gunners’ dream of winning the Premier League for the first time since 2004. In 37 league games this season, he scored 15 goals and provided seven assists. Holland highlighted Ödegaard as the engine of Arsenal’s title push.

Of course, camaraderie also plays a big role in the selection. Holland and Ödegaard are from the same country, Norway. While there is a lot of familiarity between the two as national teammates, Ödegaard’s performances cannot be ignored, giving the nod to Holland.
