Lotte Barnes pitches ‘best game of the season’ “I’m going to keep it going”
Lotte Giants foreign pitcher Charlie Barnes (28), who has been pitching well this season, pitched his best game yet.
Barnes took the mound against SSG at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on April 18 and threw seven innings of five-hit ball. Lotte won 7-2, giving Barnes his fourth win of the season (3-0).
Barnes broke out of his April slump, but has been pitching like a champ since May. He allowed one run in six and two-thirds innings, one run in seven innings, four runs in five innings, four runs in six innings, four runs in five innings, two runs in seven innings, and three runs in three and one-third innings.
Barnes pitched his best game of the season against SSG on April 18. It was Barnes’ first no-hitter of the season since May 10 against the Doosan Bears (six and two-thirds innings).
Barnes threw a total of 94 pitches (64 strikes) and was powerful and effective enough to get through the seventh inning. He got out of a bases-loaded jam in the third and a bases-loaded jam in the fifth without allowing a run. His fastball was up to 147 mph on the day, and he used his slider, changeup, and two-seam fastball to keep the SSG bats in check.메이저사이트
Barnes lowered his season ERA from 4.42 to 3.95. It’s the first time this season he’s been in the triple digits in ERA.
“I worked on getting favorable ball counts,” Barnes said. “I didn’t try to do anything different,” Barnes said, “I just tried to get into favorable counts and not get into unfavorable counts like 2-ball-0 strikes. I just tried to get back to my normal feel. I’ll try to keep that going.
