Bang Shin-sil, the surprise star of the Korean Ladies Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour, jumped 123 spots to No. 110 from No. 233 last week in the Rolex Women’s Golf Rankings, released on Tuesday.
The rookie won her first career title at the E1 Charity Open, which concluded on Sept. 28 at Seongmunan Country Club in Wonju, Gangwon Province, earning 19 points for her victory to reach the top of the rankings. At the Japan Ladies Professional Golf (JLPGA) Tour Resort Trust Ladies in Japan, Miyu Yamashita earned 19 victory points for her third win of the season and moved up two spots to 19th.
The field level for this event was 179.25 points. Miyu has moved into a commanding lead in all point standings, including the Grand Prix of the Year and prize money.
