‘It’s my sixth All-Star…’ 139-win, 11-year veteran prepares for his first ‘All-Star start’
Eleven-year veteran pitcher Gerrit Cole, 32, of the New York Yankees, who has been named an All-Star six times, will start his first All-Star Game.
MLB.com today (Nov. 11) revealed the American League and National League All-Star starters ahead of the 2023 Major League Baseball All-Star Game on Nov. 12.
Yankees right-hander Cole, who went 9-2 with a 2.85 ERA in 19 appearances in the first half of the year, will take the mound for the American League.온라인바카
As MLB.com notes, “Cole is a six-time All-Star, but hasn’t started a game since 2015 National League starter Zack Greinke, when he was with the Pittsburgh Pirates.”
This is Cole’s sixth All-Star selection since being named to the National League All-Star team in 2015 (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022), but his second appearance and first start.
National League starter Zack Greinke was named an All-Star for the first time since his big league debut in 2019. This year, he is 11-3 with a 3.04 ERA in 19 starts.
Galen is the first Arizona pitcher to start the All-Star Game since Curt Schilling in 2002.
