“I’m so happy I’m crying,” says Baek Seung-yeop, whose three-point shooting streak gives his team the win
Baek Seung-yeop’s three-point shot caught fire.
Dongguk University won 82-69 against Kyung Hee University in the 2023 KUSF University Basketball U-League at Dongguk University Gymnasium on Thursday.
Dongguk University’s archery basketball shone through. Playing with a small lineup, Dongguk made 15 three-pointers to secure the win.
Baek Seung-yeop, who had an explosive shooting performance, contributed to the team’s victory with five three-pointers. Led by Baek Seung-yeop’s 19 points, Dongguk University held off a late charge from Kyung Hee University to earn a valuable victory. With the win, Dongguk University jumped to eighth place in the standings and moved closer to a playoff spot.
Baek Seung-yup said, “If we win today, we will be closer to the playoffs. I feel like I’m going to cry because we won. I’m really happy,” he said.
Baek suffered a shoulder injury at the beginning of the season. But now that his rehabilitation is over, he is finding his shooting touch again.
“I didn’t have a good feeling before the game,” he said. In fact, I had a serious shoulder injury at the beginning of the season, so my arm wasn’t going up well, but now that I’ve finished rehabilitation, I’ve been shooting since two days ago, and my shooting feeling has returned since then. I tried to shoot like normal and it went in,” he said.
“Before the season, the coach asked me to fill the gap of my brother (LG) Seung-hoon, who graduated. But when I injured my shoulder and my shots weren’t going in, the coach encouraged me not to think too much about it. Today, the shots were falling, so he encouraged me to shoot to my heart’s content,” he said.메이저사이트
In the fourth quarter, Baek showed his confidence by constantly signaling his teammates to pass to him.
“I had a really good feeling, so I wanted the ball to come to me, so I kept asking for the ball,” he recalled.
Dongguk University can clinch a spot in the playoffs with a win in the final game against Chosun University.
“Now that my shoulder is back, I want to be a player who can make 3-pointers when needed. I scored 19 points today, but I will do my best to make 10 3-pointers against Chosun University,” Baek Seung-yup said.
