Hot Song Ya-dong catches Simon and aims to enter the ‘UFC Top 5’

Hot fighter Song Ya-dong (25, China) is aiming for the top 5 over Ricky Simon (30, USA).

Song Ya-dong, ranked 8th in the UFC bantamweight rankings, will face Simon, ranked 10th, in the UFC Fight Night: Song vs. Simon main event held at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on the 30th (hereinafter Korean time).

Asia’s only UFC bantamweight ranker Song Ya-dong is famous for his hot fights. In 11 UFC fights (8 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses), he won the Performance of the Night bonus 4 times and the Fight of the Night bonus once. The Performance of the Night is a prize money of about 60 million won (50,000 dollars) given to a player who has a great finish, and the Fight of the Night is given to a player who has a great match.

A traditional Chinese martial art kung fu base fighter who KOs opponents in various ways such as punches and elbows.

The young age of 25 is the best weapon. Song Ya-dong is showing improvement in each fight in the UFC. Although he lost last time to Corey Sand Hagan (31 ∙ USA) via TKO due to an eye injury, he is still considered one of the UFC’s top prospects.

At Media Day held on the 27th, Song Ya-dong said about the loss in the last game, “I learned that you shouldn’t take one shot in the first round. He should also use more elbows,” he reflected. He then vowed, “I will beat Simon this time and fight the top 5 players.”

In order for Song Ya-dong to grow beyond a promising star and become a UFC top 5 fighter, wrestling verification is required. Song Ya-dong allowed five takedowns to Cody Staman (31, USA) in 2019 and recorded a draw. At the time, he was practically defeated, but he was evaluated as being lucky in the decision.

Simon, who is on a five-fight winning streak, is the best opponent to prove Song Ya-dong’s wrestling skills. He landed 37 takedowns in the UFC bantamweight division. He holds the 2nd-highest number of takedowns in UFC bantamweight history.

Yadong Song said he was better than Simon in everything, including wrestling. “Simon is a tough fighter and a powerful wrestler, but technically he is mediocre in all areas. My hitting is better than him, and my ground game is better than him. He expressed his confidence, saying, “If you want to wrestle, let’s stick together with wrestling.”토스카지노

Simon, on the other hand, evaluated Songya-dong as less complete. He said, “Song Ya-dong is an explosive fighter, but I don’t think he harmonizes hitting and grounding as well as I do. He said, “I am confident in this fight because I don’t think there is anyone in the bantamweight division who has a better balance between striking and grounding than I do.”

In the co-main event, Kaiu Bohalyu (30, Brazil), a rookie with 12 consecutive wins (UFC 3 wins, 0 losses), and Mihau Oleksheychuk (28, Poland) face each other.

The UFC Fight Night: Song vs. Simon main card will be broadcast live on TVING and tvN SPORTS from 8:00 am on Sunday, April 30th.
