A showdown between the league’s best. The Dodgers snapped Tampa Bay’s three-game winning streak. They also avenged the previous day’s loss.

The Dodgers rallied from behind to defeat the Tampa Bay Rays, 6-4, on Monday (April 28) at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

With the win, the Dodgers avenged a 3-9 loss the day before and improved to 32-21 while snapping a two-game losing streak. They snapped Tampa Bay’s three-game winning streak. Tampa Bay is now 38-16.

The Rays struck first in the second inning on a solo shot by leadoff hitter Max Muncy, his 16th home run of the season. Muncy answered in the top of the fourth. J.D. Martinez led off with a double and scored on Muncy’s double to right field. Jason Heyward’s grounder to shortstop set up a bases-loaded opportunity, and a wild pitch allowed him to score. It was 3-0.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Kershaw faltered. He allowed Tampa Bay to rally. He gave up a leadoff walk to Randy Arozarena, a double to Christian Betancourt to put runners on second and third, and a single up the middle to Manuel Margot to make it 3-2.

Then, in the bottom of the fifth, he gave up a single to Wander Franco and a double to Harold Ramirez to cut the deficit to 3-4. Kershaw was in danger of losing the game.

But the bats helped Kershaw. Unable to overturn the lead, the Dodgers had a chance in the top of the seventh. After Miguel Rojas singled and was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second, Mookie Betts singled up the middle to tie the game at 4-4 and Freddie Freeman doubled to left-center to make it 5-4.

Miguel Vargas added a solo shot to left-center in the top of the eighth.

But the Dodgers didn’t have it easy in the bottom of the ninth. With one out in the bottom of the ninth, Taylor Walls doubled. He struck out Jose Ciri but gave up a walk to Yandy Diaz. He gave up a single up the middle to Wander Franco with runners on first and second, cutting the deficit to 6-5, but he was able to get out of the jam.메이저놀이터

For the Dodgers, starter Clayton Kershaw struggled, allowing four runs on six hits (one homer) in five innings with two walks and six strikeouts. The offense helped him out of the hole. However, Kershaw hasn’t been able to break out of his recent slump. He gave up two runs in four innings against Minnesota on July 17 and four runs in 3⅔ innings against St. Louis on July 22.

After Kershaw, the Dodgers used a combination of Yoenis Almonte, Brusder Graterol, Evan Phillips and Caleb Ferguson to shut down the Tampa Bay offense.
