Atlanta acquires infielder Nicky Lopez from KC
The Atlanta Braves have bolstered their infield.
The Braves announced on Wednesday that they have agreed to a trade with the Kansas City Royals to acquire infielder Nicky Lopez, 28, in exchange for left-hander Taylor Hearn, 29.
Lopez, a left-handed hitter, has played in 518 games over five seasons in the majors, batting .248 with a .311 on-base percentage and .317 slugging percentage. His primary position is second base and shortstop, but he has also played third base, first base, and left field.
In 67 games this season, he was batting .210 with a .322 on-base percentage and .280 slugging percentage, with 13 RBIs and four doubles without a home run. He stole 21 bases between his 30 strikeouts.
He hit .300 with a .365 on-base percentage and .378 slugging percentage in 151 games in 2021, but hasn’t been that good since.
The fifth-round pick in the 2016 draft has three years and 139 days of service time as of January 2023. Atlanta can exercise its option through 2025.
Hearn was acquired from the Texas Rangers in a cash trade on July 25.
He made his Atlanta debut on July 30, appearing in the eighth inning of a home game against the Milwaukee Brewers, but struggled, allowing four runs on two hits, one walk and two strikeouts in 1/3 of an inning. He was sent back down after one game.카지노
Selected by the Washington Nationals in the fifth round of the 2015 draft, he made his big league debut with Texas in 2019. In five seasons and 93 appearances, he has a 12-15 record with a 5.26 ERA.
