In baseball, the LG Twins defeated the Kiwoom Heroes in a 12-inning thriller to extend their winning streak to seven games.

Kiwoom opened the scoring in the top of the first inning after Ronnie Dawson singled, stole second and came home on Song Sung-moon’s infield single.

Lee Ju-hyung came up to bat next and hit a two-run home run to right field to make it 3-0.

LG got one run back in the bottom of the inning when Hong Chang-ki, who drew a walk, scored on an error.

However, Kiwoom scored a run in the top of the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Lee Yong-kyu with runners on first and third to make it 4-1.

LG cut the deficit to 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth when Hong Chang-ki singled to left field with runners on first and second after singles by Moon Bo-kyung and Park Hae-min.

In the bottom of the ninth, after leadoff hitter Moon Bo-kyung drew a walk, Park Dong-won hit a two-run home run to left into the outfield stands to tie the game at 4-4 and send it into extra innings.

The game came down to the 12th inning.

Kiwoom had the bases loaded in the top of the 12th, but couldn’t capitalize as they couldn’t get a run across.

In the sixth inning, after Park Chan-ho led off with a double, KIA capitalized on five hits and two errors to score six runs and take a 9-4 lead.

Samsung scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh with four hits, including RBI doubles by Koo Ja-rook and Kim Tae-hoon, to cut the deficit to 7-9.

However, KIA scored three more runs in the top of the ninth, including a triple by Socrates, to take a 12-7 lead and secure the win.

Hanwha’s Kim Tae-yeon hits two-run game-winner in first inning, Peña pitches eight shutout innings to snap four-game losing streak
